This monument
as a melancholy tribute of conjugal affection is erected
to the memory of
Mrs FRANCES ORDERSON
who in the 31st year of her age
on the 20th July 1810
on her pafsage to England (her native Country)
died at sea
and whofe body during an awful calm was
commintted to the unfathomable deep
but the immortal part has reac'd that shore
where sickness, pain and death are felt no more
where blissful years in sweet succession roll
and peace eternal fills the ther'al soul!
where God hath call'd her, that she there may have
a bliss more lasting than herself once gave
Adieu dera woman! solace of my life
Thou cheerful friend! Thou more than faithful with
whose virt'ous mind with pure affection fraught
daughter, sister, mistress - each duty wrought
whose tend'rest love Thy husband ever blest
his cares diminish'd and his joys increas'd
Then He ... rebuked the winds .. the ...
